2012 Glass, wood, stainless steel double edge razor blades; 16.5"h x10"x10"; 2013

In 2013, the United States Department of Veterans Affairs released a study that covered suicides from 1999 to 2010, which showed that roughly 22 veterans were dying by suicide per day, or one every 65 minutes.

That equals eight thousand and thirty per year.

Within this glass bell jar, there is one stainless steel double-edged razor blade for each veteran who took their own life in one 365 day period.

In March 2003, G.W.Bush ordered the invasion of Iraq on the dis-information that this sovereign nation possessed weapons of mass destruction.

From March 2003 up to the end of his presidency in 2008, four thousand four hundred and eighty-five US military were killed in a combat zone.

Each tag within this glass bell jar is stamped with the year and the number of each individual's death in that given year.

It would require 25.4 same size jars, packed as tightly as this to represent the violent civilian death toll from his same period: 114,000.
